why? there are a lot of different reasons, but probably because of the timing. I was a freshman at Fordham, and they announced they were going to release father of the bride... an insane amount of hype surrounded this album; it got me really excited. I just remember when the first few songs came out - I was fully enthralled by the music."
sam on the memory he associates with this album
"this album definitely evokes the same emotions as it did the first time that I heard it. the longer that I listen to it and the more times that I listen to it, the more I realize that it evokes a broader variety of emotions within me, too. I associate their other album, modern vampires of the city, with my freshman/sophomore years of high school, and then father of the bride with my freshman/sophomore years of college... going from high school to college, that transitional period and this music bring out so many feelings that I have buried within me. both albums, but especially this one, unleash this wave of nostalgia. there are so many layers that seem to unravel when I listen to this album, which I love."
